Letter to Condo Association regarding cut tree Home » Blogs » tomfriedel's blog

Wonder what kind of response I am going to get to this letter....

Hi,

I know I haven't attended too many meetings recently, so maybe shouldn't
comment. But I was sad to see the tree next to my parking space
cut down. In February I spent three weeks at the ProAves Cerulean
Warbler Reserve in Colombia. ProAves is a conservation organization,
and the Cerulean Warbler is an endangered bird which migrates from
Colombia often via Florida to the Appalachian mountains. One of the
things ProAves does is plant trees in the coffee and banana
plantations to help the migratory birds. Although I have never seen a
Cerulean Warbler in that tree, I have seen other migratory birds.
I wonder why in a time of global deforestation, climate change and
species extinctions, anyone would cut down an apparently healthy tree?
If the tree was intentionally cut down, could you forward to whoever decided
this and let me know why?

thank you,
tom

Condo told me tree was diseased and it might have damaged the building if it fell. The building is 30 stories of concrete designed to withstand a category five hurricane, so that part is ridiculous. I believe the tree was misshaped but not diseased.
