Here is a letter to the United States Congress from then President Jimmy Carter about his environmental goals.
Hundreds of natural locations slated for created, enlargement or improvement. Strengthening of pollution regulations. And so much more. Jimmy Carter often told the American people to conserve energy. He famously recommended wearing a sweater instead of turning up the heat. Admittedly this was during the Arab oil embargo, but it is hard to imagine any president since then saying anything like that.

Now imagine such a letter from today's Republican party. At the top would be opening of federal lands to drilling and the Keystone oil pipeline. After that would be loosening of pollution regulations to help business, and that is probably mostly the medical industry for the new cancer cases. Probably recommendations to weaken the Endangered Species Act. Nothing about global warming or sea level rise.
